First Steps in Pallet Town
Our journey begins in the cozy little town of Pallet Town, the starting point for so many legendary trainers. Professor Oak is, as always, ready to greet us with some seriously important decisions that will change your experience. It's time to choose our rival's name, and of course, meet our partner Eevee. Unlike the classic games, we won't be choosing one of the classic starter Pokémon. Instead, we will be paired with the adorable and super adaptable Eevee. Eevee is not only cute but also a powerhouse with unique moves and abilities that will help us throughout our adventure. As we step out of our house and into the overworld, the nostalgia hits hard with the familiar music and environment setting the stage for the grand adventure that awaits. The initial routes of the game are our tutorial, teaching us the basics of catching Pokémon using the Pokémon Go-inspired mechanics and battling trainers to build our team's strength. Catching our first few Pokémon, like Pidgey and Rattata, will help us understand the catching system and power up our Eevee. The early game emphasizes exploration and familiarizing ourselves with the world, and with Eevee by our side, every step is filled with excitement and discovery. Viridian City is where we will find our first Pokémon Center and Poke Mart, essential for healing and stocking up on supplies. A key objective in Viridian City is to deliver Professor Oak's parcel. In classic Pokémon fashion, we become errand runners right off the bat. Heading north towards Route 2, we encounter a peculiar individual blocking our path. This is where we learn that the Gym Leader of Viridian City is never in the Gym! To continue our journey, we must venture back to Pallet Town and deliver the parcel to Professor Oak, setting us on the right path once more. Once we deliver the parcel, Professor Oak gives us the Pokedex and Poke Balls, rewarding us for our efforts. This is a crucial moment, as it officially kicks off our quest to fill the Pokedex and become the best trainer in the region. Now, with our objectives clear, we can confidently head back to Viridian City and prepare for the challenges that await us.
Conquering Viridian Forest
Viridian Forest is the first major challenge, a dense woodland filled with Bug-type Pokémon like Caterpie, Weedle, and Kakuna. Navigating through the forest can be tricky, but it’s also a great place to train our Pokémon and gain experience. Bug-type Pokémon are particularly weak against Flying and Fire-type moves, so having a Pokémon with those moves can make things a lot easier. Eevee, with its adaptability and access to various TMs, can be a great asset here. As you make your way through the forest, be prepared for trainer battles. Before challenging Brock, it's a good idea to explore the city and interact with the locals. Talking to NPCs can provide valuable information, tips, and even items that can aid you in your quest. The Pewter City Museum is worth a visit, as it showcases fossils and artifacts related to Pokémon and the region's history. This can provide some background information about the world and add depth to your adventure. Brock's Gym specializes in Rock-type Pokémon, which are weak against Water, Grass, Fighting, and Ground-type moves. If you started with Eevee, you will have to get creative, as Eevee does not have access to any of those move types early in the game. One strategy is to catch a plant-type Pokémon like Oddish or Bellsprout from Route 2 or Viridian Forest. As you progress through Route 3, you'll eventually reach the entrance to Mt. Moon, a vast cave system filled with Pokémon and hidden treasures. Mt. Moon is home to various Pokémon, including Zubat, Paras, and Geodude. Be prepared for encounters with Team Rocket grunts, who are causing trouble in the area. These battles can be challenging, but they are also a great way to test your team's strength and earn experience. Mt. Moon is a maze of tunnels and chambers, so exploring every corner is essential. Cerulean City and Misty's Gym
